If there was one color that stood out above all the rest at fashion shows, it would be red. Shades, tones and tints of reds were everywhere, whether it was a classy Chanel jacket, a dramatic Rodarte dress or a Lanvin Dreamcoat
I heard different shades, tints and tones of red will be big this Fall, so this is my personal take on that hue.

I don't know about you, but for me, when I dress, I love to look like me. I like my outfits to have a little personality and separate me from everyone walking down the street. In saying that, I'm no Lady Gaga (pants on, thanks!), but, I do really enjoy wearing eye-catching pieces and working them back with more simple and classic items of clothing.
For this reason, I tend to shop vintage a lot. You can get great statement pieces - I have a fantastic bright pink dress from the eighties - but you can also find really good quality basics as well. It's amazing what some people throw away!
However, lately I've been getting into small, local designers as well. Their products are generally unique, and only available in a limited supply, so you know you won't see them on everyone else. They're also more likely to be ethically made, and of higher quality than chain store clothing. Best of all, you are supporting your local up-and-coming designers and the fashion industry in your area.
The outfit I'm wearing above shows off, what is for me, the best of both of my shopping loves. The jumper in vintage. I'm fairly certain it's hand-knitted, it's soft, neutral, and over-sized - perfect for working back with winter's statement pieces. Plus, it only cost me $4!
These tights are by Black Milk Clothing. They're a Brisbane-based tights company who has gained quite a cult following around the world, expanding every day. They also make bodysuits, dresses and tops, made from amazing printed fabric or incredible materials.
I have been doing some assistant work with them over the past few months, and have found it really fascinating to learn more about what goes on behind-the-seams (lol), in fashion. I've also managed to amass myself a few pairs of tights, with room in my wardrobe for several more pairs.
Hope you're having a lovely week!
PS: I want to make it clear that in no way was this post sponsored or suggested by Black Milk Clothing. I may be working there, but these opinions are 100% my own!
